you must have had a bad holiday in Italy…the ref was excellent, Klein was one of the best, if not the best, referee in the world, the only ref who was not intimidated by the Argentines in 78…you lose all credibility by accusing him of being bent…and that was hardly a ‘goal’ by Socrates. Zoff and the Italian players stopped because the whistle had gone and he rolled the ball into the net! Brazil were beaten fair and square that day, end of.

Rossi was level with Leandro when Graziani passed to him so it was offside.As well as Gentille’s foul on Zico which should have resulted in a penalty the referee who was by and large excellent that day,really should have pulled Orialli up for his persistent fouling of Eder throughout the match as he was constantly clipping Eder’s heels,much like in the game against Argentina.Italy prooved to be a very good team but did ride their luck against the South American teams with lenient refereeing.Amen
